I've always found Vinicius Junior beautiful.
Not in spite of his features because of them. That face. That energy. That smile. There was something undeniably striking about him, long before any surgery, long before anyone started paying attention to anything other than what he does with a ball at his feet.
But social media doesn't care about that. Social media cares about fitting into a mold.
The world only notices cruelty when it's too late.
You probably saw it today. After Brazil's early exit from the 2026 World Cup, Vinicius Junior returned home and underwent a chin harmonisation procedure. New photos of him alongside his girlfriend went viral and people suddenly couldn't recognize him.
And now everyone is "shocked."
Everyone has an opinion. Everyone has something to say.
But where were all these voices when Neymar in a public interview called Vinicius the ugliest player he had ever played with? Where was the outrage then? Where was the compassion?
Nowhere. Because back then, it was just... funny. Just banter. Just the internet being the internet.
That's what makes me sick.
I know what it feels like.
I'm not Vinicius Junior. I don't play for Real Madrid. I don't have millions of followers watching my every move.
But I know what it's like to open your phone and read something about yourself that you can't unsee.
Someone once called me in my own comment section "a goat with yellow teeth".
One comment. One stranger. One sentence that meant nothing and everything at the same time.
I had thousands of positive comments. Kind words. People who genuinely appreciated what I was putting out. And yet the only thing I could hear, for days, was that one sentence echoing in my head.
So imagine being Vinicius. Imagine having millions of people dissecting your face, your features, your worth every single day. For years.
Can we really be surprised that he walked into that clinic?
